Donovan Laie
Peace Education Mentor
Hello, my name is Donovan Laie. I am a Peace Mentor at TKF. I support TKF’s work because I believe that restorative justice is vital to our society as a whole. We as leaders need to start regulating the traumas and barriers that our schools and youth hold as it may help lower school violence and create better habits.
One of my biggest passions throughout my whole life has been to help others, especially youth that is in need. I take pride in servicing people, specifically youth as my experiences may help those youth who can relate to my past and hopefully follow in a similar or even better direction as mine.
Supporting TKF was a no-brainer for me because of the purpose behind it. I understand the vital role that positive influencers and mentors play in one’s life. I grew up with great mentors and it has helped me develop healthy habits for myself in order to confront my traumas.
Fun facts about myself are that I have played in the Pac 12 as a collegiate football player. I also had 25 or more offers from colleges around the country that wanted me to play for their schools. I love to play basketball in my free time as a hobby of mine. I also spend time with my family the majority of the time.
